Constitution Day 2025

This week, Ensign Peak Academy students and mentors celebrate the U.S. Constitution. Enjoy listening to some of our student read the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution:

What happened on September 17, 1787

  • The delegates to the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia signed the final draft of the U.S. Constitution.
  • 39 of the 55 delegates present signed the document at Independence Hall.
  • This marked the completion of the convention’s work and sent the Constitution to the states for ratification.

Modern observance

  • September 17 is officially recognized as Constitution Day and Citizenship Day (by federal law).
  • It commemorates both the signing of the Constitution and the rights and responsibilities of U.S. citizenship.

The Mission of Ensign Peak Academy

A portion of our mission statement reads: “The Mission of Ensign Peak Academy is to invite, inspire and mentor students as they strive for joy in scholarship, a love of liberty, and learning in light of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.”

Our curriculum is woven with stories, principles, articles, examples, speeches and teachings that honor those who have established liberty, and promote the cause of liberty in our day.
