Honors Program

Welcome to the Ensign Peak Academy honor’s program! In addition to outstanding scholarship, we strive to cultivate three things:

  • allegiance to Christ and to family
  • spiritual resilience and resistance to worldly philosophies at odds with the gospel
  • a habit of seeking the good

These values are foundational to (and incorporated in) our honors seminar classes, our quarterly honor’s program meetings, our service and leadership programs, and our individual mentorship of honors students.

Mentorship

Each student accepted into our Honors Program meets twice a year with the honors coordinator to set goals (academic, service, leadership and character), counsel together and track progress. Members of the honors advisory board also provide mentorship, direction, and encouragement.

Honors Seminar Courses

Our honors seminar classes (9 weeks each) partner great literature with gospel teachings to enable students to embark on a journey of personal growth and intellectual exploration. Each class encourages students to engage in greater depth as scholars, to experience creative and critical thinking, to participate in meaningful conversations and to cultivate confidence in their values and worldview. Topics include: the importance of knowing your true, eternal identity; is it me or is it the spirit?; being invited into God’s work of creation; contrasting worldly power with godly power; media literacy; faith and reason; and many more important topics pertinent in today’s world. Visit our High School Honors Seminar page for details. Honors Seminar courses are open to all high school students. Participation in the Honors Program is not required to enroll in any Honors Seminar.
