Each Middle and High School course includes a final exam for each semester. Final exams must be proctored, to ensure the integrity of the assessment process and to maintain a fair academic environment. This is also a requirement for Ensign Peak Academy to be an accredited institution. These exams apply to that semester only. There are no full-year final exams. Each exam has 34 questions and an essay. Each exam has a 3 hour time limit, and there is only 1 attempt allowed.
Students may take final exams anytime when the finals are open.
- 2025-2026 1st Semester final exams are open from January 13-31, 2026.
- 2025-2026 2nd Semester final exams are open from May 26 – June 6, 2026.
You may take final exams for self-paced courses at any time.
All exams are comprised of selections from the quiz questions, so the best way to study is to review the quizzes. Students are able to view the correct answers in the quiz results, even if they selected the incorrect answer. Click “grades” and then open each quiz to review.
Locate the final exam by clicking on “Modules” in the Canvas menu. Scroll to the bottom.
Final Exam for students who joined after the beginning of the semester: Students who enrolled after the beginning of the semester and before Lesson 4 should take the final exam. Students who enrolled after Lesson 4 are not required to take the final exam at this time. If high school students wish to earn credit, they may pay a prorated tuition fee to open the lessons that were taught prior to their date of enrollment. They may then complete these lessons on a self-paced basis. Upon completion of those lessons, they should then take the final exam.
Final exams are “closed-book” proctored exams. Proctoring can be administered through Proctorio or an in-person proctor.
We offer online proctoring through Proctorio. This technology provides a secure and efficient way to monitor exams allowing you to take the test at home, at the library, or anywhere, without an in-person proctor. Proctorio isn’t a person looking at you thought your webcam. Proctorio will use your webcam to record you during the exam. It will also record everything that is on your computer screen. Only your mentor and the adminstrators at Ensign Peak Academy will have access to these recordings.
You will need the following: webcam, microphone (both of these are usually built in to your computer), an internet browser (Chrome, Edge, Opera, or Brave), and Proctorio’s extension (http://getproctorio.com).
Proctorio is included with tuition for all middle and high school students.

Alternatively, you may choose to use an in-person proctor to monitor your student while taking final exams. Request this option by contacting our registrar at registrar@ensignpeakacademy.com. Please note that this option is subject to the following restrictions:
All in-person proctors must be at least 21 years of age. Individuals who are most likely to agree to serve as your proctor include a neighbor, a friend, a ward member, a librarian or an associate of a parent.
As per accreditation requirements, proctors may NOT be any of the following: relative of student, employer of student, parent of any other student enrolled in an Ensign Peak Academy course, personal tutor of student, church or religious youth group leader, athletic coach, assistant coach, athletic administrator, or athletic academic counselor, or someone with a vested interest in the student’s eligibility to compete in extracurricular activities at any institution (e.g. sports, theater, choir, etc.).
Please be aware that medical exemptions will not be granted for in-person human proctoring now that we offer the Proctorio option.
In-person proctored final exams are administered online using a confidential passcode emailed to the proctor by Ensign Peak Academy after they have completed the In-Person Proctor Application. Please let your proctor know which course exams you will be taking so they can request them on the application. Students may use their own computer or a computer of the proctor. Students must remain supervised by the proctor during the entire exam with the proctor monitoring the student’s screen as well as their environment.
If a proctor is unable to proctor an exam after all, they may not give the exam passcode to another person or the student. In this case, another person needs to apply to serve as a proctor and will receive the codes from Ensign Peak Academy.
Students must show ID or be personally known to the proctor.
The final exams must not be duplicated in any way (including screen-captured, copied/pasted, photographed, printed, etc.)
