Description

This unit study helps young students understand what governments are and how they work. By exploring ten common forms of government, students will learn about the sources of governmental power and the ways in which the powers of government are limited. The governmental forms described in this unit study are constitutional republic, pure democracy, monarchy, socialism, communism, oligarchy, aristocracy, military dictatorship, theocracy and totalitarianism. Precise explanations clarify these ten governmental structures and how each structure affects economic policies and reflects philosophical ideologies. Historical and/or current real-world examples are provided for each form.
