We offer two different full year art courses for 3rd – 6th grade students. We recommend taking Elementary Studio art first before taking the Art Projects course. Art Projects is offered live only. Elkementary Studio Art is offered live and self-paced. Here are the descriptions.
Elementary Studio Art
The elementary studio art course is designed to give 3rd – 6th grade students experiences in making art as they also learn the basic elements and principles of art. Students gain knowledge by practicing fundamental skills and working through the creative process. Instruction takes place through a variety of media and methods, including mentor-led activities, demonstrations, videos, and thought-provoking questions and assignments. This is a course that students will look forward to again and again.
Art Projects
This course is an opportunity for students to work on a variety of fun and meaningful art projects, with classmates and with an art mentor, who is also an accomplished studio artist. Students will meet weekly, and will do art projects, which would include activities such as drawing, acrylic painting, photography, illustration, digital illustration, poster making, graphic design, book making, and others. A list of art supplies will be provided.
