2nd Grade Explorers Literature and Writing Studies (Independent Use Student License)

Description

This course invites you and your children to:

• enter into engaging new worlds
• exercise imagination
• focus on building testimony
• strengthen family bonds
• develop and reinforce foundation skills
• create new and beautiful works

Our simple to follow, flexible weekly schedules allow parents to determine when and how often to learn, within each week. Students can do much of the work independently, with regular opportunities to evaluate and reflect with parents.

• Misty of Chincoteague by Marguerite Henry  print book or audio book

• Bambi by Felix Salten  print book or audio book
• Little House on the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder  print book or audio book
• Winnie-the-Pooh by A.A. Milne  print book or audio book
• The Wild Robot by Peter Brown  print book or  audio book

Throughout the school year, students will read a variety of fairy tales, view different versions of each, act them out and then write the tale in their own unique way. Each unit makes careful connections to gospel principles and helps children see beauty and creativity in all aspects of life.
