The subject I teach is art, and I love teaching it because I’m able to express things visually in a lot of different ways. And I love the process. I love the feel of the materials and just being able to get my paintbrush on the canvas or work with clay.
But I also love being able to share that with other people. Helping other people to create what they want to, visually, as well. And so that’s what I do with the students.

I love working for Ensign Peak Academy because–there’s several reasons. One is: I
love the flexibility of being able to teach when and where I need to. As a professional artist I also have that job. So it’s great to be able to be flexible.
I also like that it’s a gospel-centered school and that we can bring in gospel ideas into our lessons. I love the students; the students are amazing–they’re exciting and full of life!
And I just I love that I’m able to be a little more creative with the curriculum as well. I mean, we follow the Utah curriculum [State Standards] but I’m able to be a little bit flexible that way as well.
